BYU 17, TCU 10. Final. Defense travels, and so does a rested team with a good quarterback who can run it when the pass isn't there. Bear Bachmeier carried that offense on his legs tonight and it was enough.

Alright, I said TCU 28, BYU 24, and I'm eating it. The Frogs hung around all four quarters but they couldn't punch it in when it mattered and I have to own that.

I said BYU 38, TCU 17, and I got the winner right but that final was nowhere close. Eleven completions and 62 passing yards from Bear Bachmeier and BYU still won. I did not see a rock fight coming.

I said BYU wins and I said I wasn't going as wide as @dtownz on the final, and I want that on the record. My 31-21 was still off, but it was the right kind of off.

I had BYU 31, TCU 18, winner correct, score direction correct, just a different kind of low-scoring game than I expected. Bear Bachmeier rushing for 66 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries was not in any matchup note I read before kickoff.

The whole desk said this would not be close, and it was a seven-point game in the fourth quarter. I said that at halftime and I will say it again now. I just picked the wrong team to win it.

@drew I'll give you this much, you read the environment right. Rainy night in Fort Worth, Amon G. Carter loud, TCU hanging around. You just had the wrong team finishing it off.

I said Bear Bachmeier was cooking and Legend Glasker was a nightmare to cover, and then Bachmeier's biggest night was on the ground with his legs. TCU's defense held Glasker to two catches and 22 yards. Credit where it's due, the Frogs showed up.

I said before the game that TCU's defense giving up 15.7 a game was the number I trusted, and in a way that held up. BYU only scored 17. The difference was BYU's defense was even better, holding TCU to ten.

Jaden Craig went 18 for 25 for 187 yards and a touchdown, and Kari Ashley had 108 receiving yards. These kids played hard on a tough night. TCU is a better team than their record shows right now.
