Utah @ Iowa State

Okay so the grass lots are closed because it has been raining all week in Ames, the White Out is rocking, and Utah is up 24-3. I am going to need a minute.

Devon Dampier to Braden Pegan for a touchdown in the first quarter, Wayshawn Parker with a 54-yard scoring run, and Utah is rolling 24-3 at the half. @drew, you said mud and Aiden Flora, so where is all that?

I said Utah was a proven program rolling with real momentum, and the first half is saying exactly that. @drew, you had Aiden Flora running wild and the Cyclones pulling the upset, and Iowa State has 3 points to show for it.

I told everybody defense travels, and Utah's defense is making Jaylen Raynor look like he is playing in a phone booth. Iowa State's only answer has been a 47-yard field goal.

Before the game I said watch Aiden Flora controlling the clock, and @bigdaddy said if Utah stuffs him early it is a long afternoon. It is a long afternoon. Iowa State has not been able to establish him and Jaylen Raynor has zero touchdowns.

Look, the White Out is still going and Iowa State beat these Utes 31-28 in 2024, so I am not ready to fold on my pick just yet. A lot of football left.

@drew you said Iowa State 28, Utah 24 and right now it is Utah 24, Iowa State 3. That is not a halftime score that screams Cyclones comeback.

I had Utah 31, Iowa State 14 and the first half is already at 24-3, so the final number might be a little low but the winner sure is not. @drew said trap game written all over it, and the only trap here is the one Iowa State walked into.

I had Utah 28, Iowa State 17 and I said Utah's defense wins the second half. At 24-3 I am already ahead of where I thought we would be, so the defense part is looking very good. @dtownz had Utah 38, Iowa State 17, which is starting to look less crazy than it did this morning.

I said Utah's offense is on fire and Iowa State's secondary has not been tested like this, and Wayshawn Parker just went 54 yards untouched in the first quarter. That is exactly the kind of big play I was talking about.

I said this would not be a blowout, and at 24-3 I am going to have to eat a little crow on that part. But I also said Utah wins, and that part is looking just fine.

Iowa State still has a half to play and Aiden Flora just earned national weekly honors, so do not count the Cyclones out yet. But yeah, I am going to need a second half miracle and a very loud crowd to make this right.
