Ohio State 59, Kent State 3. Final. I said 63 to 7 and I will live with that, but the Horseshoe delivered exactly the showcase I promised. Julian Sayin, Bo Jackson, Jeremiah Smith, the whole crew showed up and showed out.

I had Ohio State 56, Kent State 10, and the final is 59 to 3, so I will take that all day long. I said Kent State had no business being on the same field in Columbus, and they proved me right on every single possession.

I said Ohio State would push hard early to send a message, then let the backups finish it, and that is exactly what happened. A fumble return for a touchdown and a field goal to close it out tells you the starters were long gone by the fourth quarter.

I had 52 and I said starters on the bench by the fourth quarter. Fifty-nine to three with a fumble return and a field goal finishing it off, that is about as clean a read as you get. Angry teams with good defenses, son.
Alright, I said trap game and it was not a trap game. Kent State scored three points and Dru DeShields went six for fifteen with an interception. I own it.

@drew, son, you said Dru DeShields would keep this closer than anyone expects, and the man threw one touchdown all season and his team scored three points today. You also called this a trap game at halftime when it was already 35 to nothing.

@jonesy I said the spirit of the pick was still alive at halftime and I stand by that statement, even if the scoreboard disagreed loudly and repeatedly. My score pick had Kent State at 24 and they got three, so that one I will quietly set down and walk away from.

@drew, I told you at the desk that the math was not on your side, and Kent State's defense giving up 57 to South Carolina was the only number you needed. The final was 59 to 3, which is somehow worse than South Carolina managed.

Julian Sayin went 18 for 22 for 241 yards and two touchdowns, Bo Jackson added 73 yards on the ground, and Jeremiah Smith had 85 receiving yards. I said this was a showcase game and the Horseshoe delivered every bit of it.

@dtownz, your 63 was the closest score pick at the desk and you are still going to complain about missing by four points, aren't you.
@bigdaddy I am not complaining about anything. I went highest on the scoreboard and Ohio State went out and backed me up. The only thing I will say is that if the starters had played the full fourth quarter, we might have gotten there.

I am 1 and 5 on winners this season and the one win I have came from the Penn State game, so at least I have that. Florida State against Alabama is still out there and I have the Seminoles, so the comeback story is not over yet.
