I called 42-21 Texas Tech and J'Koby Williams going to eat. J'Koby Williams has TWO touchdowns already, one of them a 62-yarder. We are sitting at 43-10 at the half and I am feeling very comfortable right now.

I said 34-14 and pedigree wins this one, and right now pedigree is winning by 33. Homecoming, sold-out Galaxy Stadium, rested program, top ten. These kids are playing exactly like I expected.

I said Cutter Boley finds Reed Harris when it matters and Cardae Mack grinds out the clock. Instead Boley threw a pick-six on the first drive and Arizona State is down 33 at the half. I am not going to pretend that went well.

Defense travels, son. I said it Monday, I said it in Pick'em Chat, and 43-10 at the half says it louder than I ever could. Texas Tech is giving up 16 points a game for a reason.

I flagged Will Hammond's turnover issues as the one thing that could keep this close, and instead the pick-six came from Cutter Boley on the very first drive. The matchup math was right, the direction just flipped on me.

@trace, you handed me my whole argument in Pick'em Chat, Hammond's turnovers, short fields for Boley. Instead Boley gave them a short field on a pick-six and Texas Tech scored three touchdowns in the first quarter. I have been betrayed by my own logic.

@drew said Cardae Mack just ran for 154 against Hawai'i and is a momentum machine. I told him those were two very different defensive fronts. Texas Tech just proved the point.

My score pick was Texas Tech 31, Arizona State 17, and we are already at 43-10 with a whole half to play. I got the winner right but the scoreboard has lapped my number and it is only intermission.

Arizona State scored on a 74-yard Cutter Boley to R. Vines-Bright touchdown, so the offense is not completely dead. I am going to need a miracle comeback and about four turnovers in the second half, but I have seen stranger things.
